Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Lithium flame test. Positive result of a flame test for lithium (Li), producing a deep red colour. This is due to the excitation of electrons in the lithium by the heat of the flame. As these electrons lose their energy, they emit photons of deep red light. The colour of the flame is different for different elements and can be used to identify unknown substances. The metal compound being tested here is lithium chloride.
