Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Lithium mine on Salar de Atacama. Satellite image of evaporation ponds (white rectangles, centre) on the Salar de Atacama drainage basin in Chile. Below the surface of this drainage basin, which is an ancient seabed, is lithium-rich brine that is pumped to the surface to evaporate. The salts are processed for the metal lithium, a key component of rechargeable batteries and other electronics. These evaporation ponds are located near the Cordillera de la Sal mountains (upper left). This image was obtained on 4 November 2018, by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8.
