Home of the Wolf Pack, 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, the primary aircraft used in air combat were the F-4 Phantom and the AC-130 Gunship.
15th Tactical Fighter Wing, 45th TFS, 47th TFS
8th Tactical Fighter Wing, 433rd TFS, 497th TFS, 555th TFS, 435th TFS, 315th Air Division, 16th Special Operations Squadron, 13th Bombardment Squadron,4th Tactical Fighter Wing, 334th TFS, 336th TFS, 335th TFS, 31st TFW, 308th TFS, 33rd TFW, 58th TFS were all involved during the Vietnam War.
As a SSgt. in the 1968-1969 timeframe, I was a Crew Chief in the 435th TFS. This is my memory of the main gate at Ubon.
